It was a Nanny McPhee day. Many members of my extended family went to church with me, so I wanted to look nice. I actually tied this cardigan at the waist which looked adorable, but it stretched it out a bit, and I had to wash it to reshape it (that's why it's not tied here--I didn't want to stretch it again). These are new shoes from Talbots, and they are cute, but they fail the comfort test.

I absolutely adore this peridot necklace but unfortunately broke it about a year ago. I made a few efforts to cobble it together, but those efforts didn't last. I recently took the time and patience to restring the entire necklace, so, yeah!, I can wear it again.

Today is Saturday, so of course this is pretty casual, but I am wearing red, which is the BHW's favorite color on me, in honor of his return from Scout Camp. This is a really old t-shirt, and I think it may be time to get a new one. I just got this jewelry from Chicos, but after wearing it today, I think it will go back. It just doesn't do anything for me. I added the Talbots Grace Fit Lightweight Denim Jacket in Cascade Wash for an evening trip to the Hale Centre Theatre to see the regional premier of The Hit.

I'm not 100% sure about how well the vintage Talbots hot fuchsia shorts went with the rest of the outfit, but there aren't many things I can wear them with, so I gave it a try. I do like the soft lavender silk tank with the gray floral silk cardigan. The necklace, although you can't tell from this photo, is made of real amethyst chips and positively sparkles in the light. Tonight was book group with the literary ladies--I was host here in our backyard.
