One Last Blast at J. Crew

Yes, I always say that. Anyway, here is what I got in the mail from the recent 30% off sale price sale.

Fan Fringe Necklace in Vibrant Fuschia. I think I can get this for around $80 if I wait a bit. This is definitely something I'll look for at a better price.

Side Seam Sailor Shirt in Black/Ivory. I really liked the pink one, but this one is a little too hamburglery for my tastes. This one is going back.

Perfect Shirt in June's Meadow Print. This looks like a printed chambray, and I think it will look very nice with white, denim, navy, yellow, red, and I'll probably wear it with green, too. This one I am keeping.

I've had my eye on this St. James Galathee Tee for quite a while, so when it got down below $40 with the discount, I jumped on it. This was final sale, but luckily, I find that I rather like it.

Finally, the butterfly silk shirt. Hmm . . . I'm on the fence with this one. If it was cotton, I'd be all over it. Silk tends to bunch up and look not so tailored on me. What do you think? (If J. Crew offered petites, I would like it much more. I can't really leave this untucked because it is sooo long on me.)

I also got the fan necklace in the other color-way (sunwashed aqua), and I liked it quite a bit better than the vibrant fuchsia one. I might consider it at about 1/2 price.

Other things that will go back this week:
Liberty Toothpick Jeans in June's Meadow -- I did not like the look overall, and I could not think of where I would wear them -- definitely not at work.
Medallion Paisley Scarf -- IRL it is not nearly as vibrant as it looks online. It would have to really be a knockout for me to keep it, as I have an awful lot of scarves already.
Linen Stripe Boy Shirt -- I like the perfect fit better, and I am a little leery of the ironing I might be getting into with that one.

UPDATE:
It's a thumbs down on the silk blouse. I think I can find something I will like better.

I am going all vintage Talbots here. The top and the bottom are from several years ago, and the jacket is from last summer. This made a very nice airy look for a beautiful spring day.

Today I decided to pattern mix with the striped shirt I just got and the sunshine peonies skirt. I really liked the way these two went together. I added a fair amount of bling with my Ily Couture Bubble Necklace and some more arm candy at $6 a pop.

Today seemed like a good day to break out the Easter egg colors. I went with this bright spearmint skirt from the J. Crew Factory, a silk paisley shirt that I'd almost forgotten was in my closet, and to keep the Spring chill away, a bright yellow jacket. This made for a very cheerful outfit overall. I added a fair amount of bling with this zebra bracelet I just got at Kohl's for $6. I went without tights today, but it was still really a little too chilly for that to be comfortable -- much warmer than it has been, though.

I'm still on break today, but I wore this to make a quick errand run. The weather is so beautiful today that I didn't even really need the jacket.

I got a package from J. Crew today, but this is the only thing I guess I'll keep. This is the Side-Seam Sailor Top in Paris Pink. I like it quite a bit. I'm trying it with my crystal flower necklace that I just got from Kohl's for $13.

Yes, I'm wearing the green jeans again, because I'm trying to break them in a little. The material starts out very stiff. Why am I trying to break in jeans that I've had for months? Well, because I recently washed the first pair, and they shrank two whole inches! I only paid 18 dollars for them, but still...grrr...

We are on spring break this week, so my dressing will be very casual. Here I am with green jeans, a purple cashmere sweater, and a scarf that pulls it all together.

A Little eBay - Pencil Sharpening

I love the colors blue and green - kind of a sea glass look, and Pantone predicts that these will be popular colors this summer. I have the sweater that matches this skirt, so I decided to pull the trigger on this.

Today is Saturday and the beginning of a week of spring break for me. As usual, the main purpose of the outfit is to keep warm.

This is my last day of teaching for a week so I went with comfortable. This cashmere sweater and jeans fit the bill nicely.
