I had a terrible time getting out of bed today because I was at school the whole day yesterday (12 hours) and then went to get a massage. I was so tired and relaxed that I slept like a log and was still in REM sleep when my alarm went off (usually I wake up on my own at 5 AM--I can't help it). As soon as I saw this outfit on the left on J. from J's Everyday Fashion, I knew I had to copy it. I added the jacket for a little bit more professionalism as I was still doing Student Led Conferences. I loved how this turned out. I did add navy tights as our weather has quickly changed from 70s to 40s. This gave me chance to wear my Micro-tweed Jacket in Navy that I was just lamenting that I wasn't getting enough wear out of. This outfit was a definite winner!
As for the conferences, I was there for 12 hours and I saw exactly 8 students. I had kind of forgotten about this striped tee, so I tried it with this J. Crew Factory Mint Skirt and my Creme Brûlée Jacket for the morning commute. I especially liked the double necklace I wore with it. This was a good look, particularly since it was warm enough today (72 degrees!) to go without tights today. Plaid on plaid? Yes, don't mind if I do.I'm dressed up a bit more here than I usually am on a Friday because I had an interview today. When I took this position last year it was for a one year hire. I will have to be re-interviewed and rehired -- such a pain, but... ah well. I've also applied for several other jobs, just in case. This beautiful black swing jacket is one of my favorite Talbot's purchases ever.

Today I went for a little pattern mixing by wearing this lace print tee with my plaid pants. I added the bright red necklace to complement the stripe of red in the plaid of the pants. I recently picked this skirt up on the cheap at eBay. I really like the combination of the pink with the orange in the eyelet pattern that you can really see in the closeup to the right. Add a little blue, and I am ready to brighten up the world. The world didn't need that much brightening, as it was warm enough to go without tights. Is this a daring color choice or a secret craving for McDonalds? I guess I'm the only one who will ever know. Anyway...I did really like this little red jacket over the indian red shirt with the mustard jeans. This made for a very fun look -- although I don't know if it's a look as much as a statement. Ha.
Speaking of the jacket, I've had this FOREVER. I got it at Christopher & Banks back in the day, and it has the cutest little flounce in the back. I tend to forget about it, but I'm glad I thought to pull it out today. And of course, every day is a great day when I can wear these adorable little pointy toed yellow flats. Huzzah!

Today I am wearing my caribbean tweed skirt from J. Crew. It's such a fun look with this stripe tee and floral cardigan. I wore it with navy tights, and that was the only problem with the outfit -- the cotton lining on this skirt, although great for summer, does not play well with tights. At all. Anyway, I added a closeup at top so that you can see that the blue really does go well with the tweedy green. Today was my last night class -- at least for this particular course. I have a one week break, and then the next one starts.
